PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Marizel Vorster has just completed her Full-time MBA at TIAS School for Business and Society. Marizel: “I have always wanted to do an MBA, but I have never been in a position to take a year off and do so full-time. When we moved to the Netherlands to allow my husband to pursue an exciting job opportunity, I was suddenly ‘in between jobs.’ I was free to study or look for a job, and I explored both options. The Full-time MBA was a confluence of time and opportunity for which I am truly grateful. I’m glad I had the chance and that I decided to make it happen.”
BROAD UNDERSTANDING OF BUSINESS
Thijs Evers: “Originally, I'm a technician with a Master's degree in Civil Engineering. In my role as Engineering Manager, I used to make decisions based on my gut feeling, as I didn't have any specific management or business administration training. This worked out well in most cases, but I lacked the theoretical underpinnings on which to base my decisions. As I was looking for a way to provide further substantiation to my decisions, both for my current role and my future career, I decided to do an Executive MBA (EMBA). I was also personally interested in finding out how things actually work within a company.
